Minutes of officers' meeting on 25 February 2008

Officers of the National Stoolball Association (NSA) met at 31 Thatchers Close, Horsham, on Monday 25 February 2008 at 7.30pm. Topics discussed include Bingolotto, CCPR seminars, equipment for stoolball in India and the Stoolball Convention.

Minutes of the last officers' meeting
The minutes were signed and approved as a true record.
Matters arising from the last meeting (14 January)
There were no matters arising.
Treasurer's report
Peter Cheesman reported that there had been little activity since our last meeting. Various items within the accounts were discussed focusing on stock held as follows:
- Bats
- Balls
- Paint
- Scorebooks
In summary our balances were still very healthy.
Bingolotto
This new game is to be launched on 29 February 2008. As a CCPR-registered member the NSA has an obligation to advertise Bingolotto. An information piece should be added to the home page of our website (Rick Mason to action).
Constitution
Proposed changes to the constitution were discussed and the revised document was circulated with the notice of the EGM due to take place on 9 March 2008.
CCPR
Conference: This is to take place on 7 May 2008. The meeting discussed sending two delegates. A final decision would be made when the fee was established and if there was a possibility of a bursary to cover the fees from the CCPR.
Risk seminar: The CCPR is running a risk seminar to review insurances etc. Michael Ledwich will attend subject to his work commitments and seminar fee.
Equipment for India
The Indian Stoolball Federation has placed an order for bats, balls and other equipment; cleared funds should be received before dispatch.
3rd Stoolball Convention at Wivelsfield Village Hall on 9 March 2008
- Agenda: The agenda was reviewed and tasks allocated.
- Shirley Reed will open the proceedings and introduce all presenters.
- Each of the agenda subjects were reviewed and the subject presenter gave a brief summary of their presentation.
Insurance hand-over from Richard Emsley to Michael Ledwich
Michael Ledwich confirmed that a handover meeting has been held with Richard Emsley to hand over the papers and explain the procedures.

Monday 31 March 2008 at 7.30pm at 53 Kings Road, Horsham.
Any other business
Sussex County Sports Partnership is holding a seminar on the International Day of Sport, to be held at Brighton University on Wednesday 27 February; John and Barbara Fitzpatrick will attend and report back to the next meeting.
Wessex league has two people that require CRB checks. The NSA's current provider (SCSP) is no longer able to provide this service. A new provider is to be sought.
Shirley Reed asked the meeting where small tournament scoreboards were available from. John Fitzpatrick said there is a supplier in Leatherhead (name to be confirmed).
Music for website video clip, Rick Mason has made contact with a composer for this piece. RM to discuss and make proposal.
Website home page to make use of short video clips. Rick Mason to contact the DVD producers for suitable clips.
The meeting closed at 9.47pm.
