Governing Body recognition
It was reported that the application form and the four volumes of documentation had already been updated and these would be resubmitted after the Annual General Meeting in November.
Rules review
Michael Ledwich reported that the Rules Working Party meeting at Cowfold on Sunday 19 October had gone very well. Michael had circulated a number of topics for the meeting to discuss and agreement had been reached with all the items raised.
The draft document will be submitted to the Annual General Meeting in November for approval. It was a matter for concern that not all the leagues and associations had held meetings to talk about the rules prior to the Review meeting.
Coaching
John Price reported that as a result of two volunteers coming forward to offer their time to coach in schools local to the Horsham area. Horsham Leisure Link, a department within Horsham District Council, have provided additional coaching assistance and funding advice so that Stoolball England can introduce a stoolball coaching pilot scheme in 2009. An explanatory document was circulated setting out details of the scheme and the schools who will be approached.
For those schools who take part, there will be a requirement that they participate in an inter-school tournament at the end of the summer term Training will be provided for the coaches and will involve a Safeguarding course, First Aid course and a Level 1 coaching course. Both volunteers have been CRB checked.
Logo, website, bi-fold leaflet and newsletter
Following the name change from National Stoolball Association to Stoolball England, Barbara Fitzpatrick was asked to contact Rick Mason with a view to creating a new logo. The name change would also impact on the Website and the Bi-fold Leaflet. It was agreed to work on these projects during the winter months.
Shirley Reed reported that she had started working on the newsletter which would be circulated at the AGM in November. She asked if she could have an article on the Schools Coaching – agreed.
