Chairman’s welcome and introduction to the revised constitution
The Chairman welcomed everyone to the Extraordinary General Meeting of the National Stoolball Association which was being held to approve the newly revised Constitution which would replace the document approved earlier in March 2008. This document had previously been circulated to all the Officers of the Association, Vice-Presidents and affiliated and associate members. In opening the meeting the Chairman explained that all the proposed changes being made were at the request of Sport England.
At the request of the meeting, the Secretary quickly went through each item of the new Constitution and expanded on the reasons for the amendments. There were no requests for further elaboration and accordingly a vote taken showed a large majority in favour of the new Constitution with only 1 representative voting against.
In view of the governing body name change, it was agreed to minute the following statement:
“All documents, rules, literature, electronic media or other material issued by the National Stoolball Association shall be read and treated as if issued by stoolball England. All references to the National Stoolball Association in such documents etc should be deleted and stoolball England should be inserted”.
The Chairman thanked everyone for their attendance. The meeting closed at 11.20am.
Kay and John Price
