Stoolball news in April 2007

You can now sign in and add your match results to this website yourself. We’ve made it really quick and easy, so you can update the results of several games in one go if you want to. Just go to your team’s page, or your league’s page, and click the ‘update results’ link.

We know you don’t always remember all the scores, so if you just know who won you can tell us that, but if you know how many runs were scored you can tell us that too and if you know how many wickets fell that’s even better. But if you don’t know it all don’t worry, just leave it blank.

This is the latest way to use stoolball.co.uk to help your team. Remember that you can already:

• tell us about your team if your details are missing or incomplete
• use the forums to find new players, or arrange friendlies
• have your league table worked out for you, automatically (contact us for details)
• add a match report, on the page about your match
• buy bats, balls, scorebooks and more from us

Don’t forget to add your match dates to the website. If you don’t do that first, you won’t be able to add the results.

We now offer quality bats from Gray Nicolls, Newbery and Hunts in a variety of weights from 454 grams (16oz) to 524 grams (18.5oz). Hunts bats costs £32, Gray Nicolls and Newbery £36. Do you want to go on a stoolball coaching course? Do you know someone who might want to go?  Melissa Mantle will be running a course at Plumpton Agricultural College, East Sussex on Sunday 29 April from 1pm-7pm.

The course costs £40 per person, which includes a stoolball coaching DVD. ‘Stoolball coach’ sweatshirts are also available for £15 (optional). It will take place on the sports field at the college, or may move into the sports hall if the weather is poor.
